Our Story

“Say It Without Saying It”

Sometimes, the words are right there—but we hold them back.

Maybe it’s a message of love, a bold opinion, an inside joke, or something we wish we could say out loud. We hesitate, stay quiet, and let the moment pass.

Then we discover another way to speak.

With Words on Cotton, your thoughts don’t have to remain unsaid. They can be printed, worn, and shared wherever you go. Every T-shirt becomes a personal message—a way to express your mood, your story, your humor, or your truth without saying a word.

Because when your shirt speaks for you, your message can be seen, felt, and remembered.

About Words on Cotton

Words on Cotton is a purpose-driven T-shirt business founded in Leander, Texas, in August 2020 under the name FiveTwenties. On August 23, 2026, we rebranded as Words on Cotton to better reflect our mission: turning meaningful messages into wearable expressions.

Our shirts are created for people who have something to say—whether it’s a personal belief, a powerful reminder, or a message that encourages others to think differently. We believe clothing can be more than something you wear. It can start conversations, challenge assumptions, and connect people.

Our flagship design, “Guilty by Color,” represents our commitment to challenging stereotypes and encouraging conversations that bring people together rather than divide them. The design invites us to look beyond assumptions and recognize the individual behind the label.

Every shirt carries a simple but important belief:

Character—not color—should define who we are.

At Words on Cotton, we make messages wearable so they can be seen, shared, and remembered.

Our Mission

At Words on Cotton, we believe lasting change begins with awareness, honest conversations, and the courage to stand against discrimination wherever it exists.

Through meaningful, wearable messages, we strive to inspire people from every background to treat one another with respect, compassion, and dignity. Our mission is to challenge stereotypes, encourage understanding, and create opportunities for conversations that bring people together rather than divide them.

Together, we can help build communities where no one is judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character and the values they live by.
